At least five people have died in wildfires raging around Los Angeles, officials said Wednesday.
More than 1,500 buildings have been destroyed and more than 100,000 people have been displaced from their homes as the wildfires spread through the city.
Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marone said his staff is struggling with the scale and speed of the disaster.
“We’re doing everything we can, but we don’t have enough firefighters across all departments in Los Angeles to handle it,” he said.
